We are recognised as one of the 11 System Leaders for education across England. Across our network we have inspirational leaders, working collaboratively to improve the education outcomes and experiences of young people.
We offer world class varied enrichment programmes unrivalled in the state sector. It covers sports, arts, music and personal development across our network to encourage all our young people to explore new areas, develop their passion and discover their talent. In 2016/17 we had 154,707 student visits to sports or enrichment sessions or fixtures.
88% of primary school children now attend a school that has been rated Good or Outstanding since joining the Trust in comparison to 32% on conversion.
Over three-quarters of the Trust’s secondary schools that have been inspected since joining the Trust are also now ranked Good or Outstanding.

Routes into teaching
We have three routes into teaching, with exciting opportunities across our 34 Schools.
School Direct Programme
This is a full time one-year course, run through many Universities, giving you a PGCE qualification upon completion. We currently partner University of Hull, Bishop Grosseteste University, University of Leicester and University of Northampton. We offer placements at our primary schools and secondary placements in English, Maths, Science, MFL, History, Geography, RE, PE and Business Studies. This unsalaried programme offers ongoing support by the Trust and the University, along with opportunities to gain practical experience whilst you learn.
Teach First Programme
Partnered with Teach First – a national charity – this a two-year programme resulting in Qualified Teacher Status and offers graduates the opportunity to train as a teacher as well as a placement within the school. This is a salaried programme, which provides support by the Trust and Teach First, along with opportunities to gain practical experience whilst you learn. Prospective teachers will need to apply directly to Teach First.
Challenge to Teach Programme
This is our ‘in-house’ programme, which is work based over two years. We partner with both Buckingham University and TES Global. This is a salaried programme, which provides support by the Trust and results in Qualified Teachers Status.

We welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers and have a range of first-class opportunities available across our 34 Schools for Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) so you’re in the best possible position to start your career in teaching in a 21st-century workplace that embraces open-minded and creative thinkers who are able to address the challenges of our times.
To fully support you in your NQT year we will offer you a 12 month structured and supported development programme within the School which includes an assigned mentor to support you.
You will have the opportunity to attend regular events to meet with other NQTs, share experiences and build your professional network.
We offer regular regional learning and development opportunities and you will be invited to regular events run by our in-house experts to increase your knowledge and understanding across a variety of topics and areas.
We offer the best internal promotional prospects across the country’s MATs and you will be able to apply for these opportunities. We also offer secondment and shorter term opportunities to work in other schools within our network.

We offer our teachers the opportunity to grow their career to become a Subject Leader, supported by Continuing Professional Development opportunities including learning from other Subject Leaders across the network.

As a teacher you will have the opportunity to be part of our system leader approach, working with our experienced and inspirational leaders who are responsible for network-wide planning approaches to benefit our community.
Challenge for Outstanding Level 1 – This course is aimed at teachers who would like their teaching to be consistently graded as ‘good’ over time.
Challenge for Outstanding Level 2 – This course is aimed at teachers whose teaching is judged to be good and aspire to be consistently graded as ‘outstanding’ over time.
We also offer a comprehensive leadership and management programme.
Middle Leaders – We deliver an in-house programme for those who wish to become middle leaders or are new to the role. More experienced middle leaders have the opportunity to study the NPQML which is delivered in partnership with Ambitions School Leadership.
Senior Leaders and Aspirant Senior Leaders – We work with Ambitions School Leadership to develop the skills of our aspirant senior leaders and those new to senior leadership through the NPQSL programme. This ensures that we are developing the very best Head Teachers and Senior Leaders of the future. We continuously invest in our Leaders and Managers to develop their skills and experience and improve their internal promotion prospects, this year 85 colleagues will be attending our Leadership and Management Programmes across the Trust.
